I had a pretty good reading month for November. I completed nearly all the books on my TBR so I am happy about that! I had a little bit of an up and down month though, there were a few books that I really loved and a few that I really struggled to finish. I had to kind of push myself to read which makes me want to not read at all, so it was a bit of a pain. I have reviews on all the books I read in the month of November so feel free to click on the titles to check them out!

I really enjoyed this!
Because I marathoned both Three Dark Crowns and One Dark Throne earlier this year it took me around the first 100 pages to get acclimated to the world again. Once I was situated back into the plot I demolished this book!
Two Dark Reigns picks straight up in the storyline with Katharine reigning over Fennbirn with Pietyr by her side. Arsinoe and Mirabella have made it safely to the mainland with the help of Billy and are trying to carve out a life for themselves there but the island beckons.
I am loving the relationship that we see between Arsinoe and Mirabella and how that has grown and developed over the course of the books. I am also enjoying having Billy thrown into the mix and him having to deal with his mainland issues as well as the abdicating queens of Fennbirn.
I don’t fully know how I am feeling about Katharine yet. I kind of hate her and then I think about her upbringing with the poisoners and how she has always been destined to either kill or be killed and I can understand why she’s made some the decisions she has. So I’m kind of in two minds about her at the moment.
I don’t trust Pietyr at all, especially after he pushed Katharine into the Breccia Domain. He said he had her best interests at heart but that’s always made me wonder how far he is willing to go. Especially after he propositioned Madrigal without Katharine’s knowledge.
Everything that happens with Jules and Emilia and the rebellion wasn’t my favourite of everything that happened. I think the cause of most of it is Emilia. I didn’t particularly like her character. She was a bit too pushy for my liking. I did enjoy learning more about Jules and the prophecy about her legion curse and seeing it in its full grandeur after it was unleashed.
There was a lot more history about the island and how the mist was created which I thought added a lot more depth to the story. It was nice to have a bit more understanding about the world and the backstory of some of the superstitions of the island.
This series is so captivating. The premise is so dark and mysterious and the storyline that Kendare Blake has managed to concoct is fantastic. I didn’t know that there was going to be another book in this series, I thought it was just going to be a trilogy so I am kind of excited to continue on and see where the story will go next. There are a lot of questions that have been left unanswered and I cannot wait to see what is going to happen next!
⭐️4/5 stars highly entertaining, dark and twisted!
I am soooo glad I finally have my hands on this book! Ever since I read One Dark Throne and Three Dark Crowns earlier this year I have been highly anticipating this read! There were so many unanswered questions at the end of the last book and I honestly cannot wait to get stuck right in and see what will happen next. This series is super atmospherical and is quite dark. I think Arsinoe is definitely my favourite of the sisters, I just found her to be the most relatable of the three. I am very much invested in the characters and the premise of the series as a whole is creative and captivating. I am very excited to get stuck in to Two Dark Reigns and see what Kendare Blake has in store for us next!
This month will be a bit of a mish mash again of new releases and series that I’ve been meaning to get around to for the longest time now. I’ve been having some really good reading months since I’ve started blogging and I’m hoping to continue on and finish some great books!
The Darkest Minds, Never Fade and In the Afterlight by Alexander Bracken
They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera
Shatter Me, Unravel Me, Ignite Me and Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi
Two Dark Reigns by Kendare Blake
Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J Maas
These are the top 5 book releases of the second half of 2018 that I am eagerly anticipating. I cannot wait to get my hands on these books and I am excited to be continuing on in some of my favourite series.
The 1st book I’m excited to be released is Two Dark Reigns by Kendare Blake. I believe this is the third and final book in the Three Dark Crowns series that I also read earlier this year consisting of Three Dark Crowns and One Dark Throne. This is a dark, atmospheric fantasy series that I flew through when I read them. I loved the characters and their growth and the twists and turns that occur are very entertaining to read. Released September 25th 2018
The 2nd book I cannot wait to read is Wildcard by Marie Lu. I read Warcross earlier this year and absolutely loved it. Emika as a character was one of my favourite female protagonists I’ve read this year, she’s clever, she’s street savvy but also tenacious and persistent. I enjoyed the gradual relationship she shared with Hideo and after that cliff-hanger at the end I can’t wait to get stuck in and see what happens next. Released September 17th 2018
The 3rd book on my list is Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor. I actually have Strange the Dreamer as one of my top 10 books of 2018 so far, so I am excited to jump straight back into that world and continue on in the story. Strange the Dreamer is lyrical and whimsical and different than anything I’ve read before. Released 2nd October 2018
The 4th book I am anticipating for the second half of this year is Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J Maas. This is the seventh and I think last book in the Throne of Glass series. I just finished Tower of Dawn and that really catapulted me right back into the story and hyped my back up for this series. I loved reading Throne of Glass and I can’t wait to see how Aelin works her way out of her current predicament and we finally get the outcome of the war. Released 23rd October 2018
The last book on my list that I can’t wait to get me hands on is Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare. This is the third book in the Dark Artifices series and oh my goodness have I been waiting. Lord of Shadows really broke me emotionally after that ending and I honestly don’t know what is going to happen next. How Emma and Julian and the rest of the Blackthorns are going to deal emotionally as well as the ramifications felt throughout the rest of the clave. This is probably my most anticipated book of 2018 and I’m excited that the release date is getting closer and closer. Released 4th December 2018
