November Wrap Up

This month I fell into a little bit of a reading slump. I don’t know I just wasn’t all that interested in picking up any books and wasn’t feeling inspired to read. I am definitely happy with what I was able to get to and I have high hopes still for December!

Tome Topple Round 13 Wrap Up

Definitely going to count this round of the Tome Topple Readathon a success! I was able to complete 1 book during the two weeks that had over 500 pages! I definitely had hoped that I would be able to read more but I’ve had a busy couple of weeks and alas was unable to commit enough time to complete any more tomes. But like I said in my TBR even if I only read one of these books it would still count as a success and this book I had been meaning to read for AGES now so I am happy!

The book I completed for the Tome Topple is:

The Toll by Neal Shusterman

2020 New Releases I wish I read

Since I’m not going to be buying any more books this year my TBR is kind of set for the rest of 2020 but there are a few new releases that have slipped through the cracks that unfortunately I am probably not going to get the chance to read this year.

5 NEW RELEASES I WISH I READ THIS YEAR ARE:

Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power

Dark and Deepest Red by Anna-Marie McLemore

Queen of Volts by Amanda Foody

Home Before Dark by Riley Sager

Reading Update

True to my predictions for this November I am waaaayyyy behind my usual amount of books read. Usually at this time of the month I would be at around 9-11 books read but I have only managed to complete 6 right now. I have just been in a little bit of a reading slump/funk and I haven’t been in the mood to pick up anything. I am about 100 pages into Legendborn by Tracy Deonn right now and enjoying that, hopefully I will have that completed by the end of the week which will bring my tally up to seven. I can’t really foresee myself finishing anything else this month but I am still hopeful and going to try and keep my thoughts positive because there are just so many great books I really want to read!

⚔️An Ember in the Ashes Series Reread⚔️

It’s not long now until A Sky Beyond the Storm is released and I ended up completing A Reaper at the Gates just in the nick of time for it! This book really breaks away from the original premise and expands so much more upon the storyline. We really see each of the main characters have to undergo a myriad of challenges and obstacles they need to overcome in order to defeat the Commandant and the Nightbringer. They all go through so much turmoil and strife and yet it’s still not enough. I liked the fact that in these books they don’t end up saving the day and miraculously figure out a way to fix all the problems in the Empire. New problems are presented and unforeseen circumstances pop up all the time which is a realistic way to portray the story and keep me entertained. This book and the series as a whole so far just keeps me right at the edge of my seat, anticipating every move and plot twist. It is highly entertaining and thrilling and I am soooooo excited to recieve my copy of A Sky Beyond the Storm and see how this series will wrap up!
