Book’s I’ve Read that I didn’t Review

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is books too good to review properly. Since I’ve started this blog I’ve got a habit now of reviewing all the books I read, however there are some circumstances where I just either don’t have enough to say about the book, I’ve already done heaps of reviews that month and didn’t feel a need to post another one or it was a smutty romance. So these are 10 books I have read since starting my blog 4 years ago that I didn’t post a review for!

Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski

Super Long Book Titles

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is super long book titles so I thought I would go through all the books I’ve read in the last year and pick out 10 books that have over 5 words in the title!

A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown

A Heart So Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer

The Empress of Salt and Fortune by Nghi Vo

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz

The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow

The Girl the Sea Gave Back by Adrienne Young

Percy Jackson and the Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers

Bookoplathon Wrap Up

As I said in my TBR post whenever I was in the mood to pick up a book I rolled and moved around the board and picked a book that corresponded to the prompt I landed on. For this particular readathon I only did 5 rolls, I was having a little bit of a slumpy month and I didn’t want to force myself to pick up a book just because it fit whatever I landed on. I did a pretty good job matching what I was actually interested in reading to what I landed on so I am pretty stoked with my results and this readathon. I thought it was a really fun, unique concept and I will definitely be participating in any future rounds. My rolls were: 8-9-5-8-5

Foiled Cover – A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown

Community Shelf (Read a book that matches the current season) – The Memory of Babel by Christelle Dabos

Chance – An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

5 Star Prediction – Blood Heir by Amelie Wen Zhao

Friend Pick – The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo

September Wrap Up

I have been feeling kind of slumpy lately and just not in the mood to read, so I am glad that I managed to complete what I did. Twelve books in a month whilst in the middle of a slump and still participating in two readathons I think is definitely a win for me!

Favourite Quotes

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is your favourite quotes. I actually don’t really have any favourite quotes or make note of any quotes I come across while reading… So I figured I would go through the last 10 book that I have read and pick my favourite quotes from those particular books!

A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir

“Failure doesn’t define you. It’s what you do after you fail that determines whether you are a leader or a waste of perfectly good air.”

Night Film by Marisha Pessl

“Mortal fear is as crucial a thing to our lives as love. It cuts to the core of our being and shows us what we are. Will you step back and cover your eyes? Or will you have the strength to walk to the precipice and look out?”

The Language of Thorns: Midnight tales and Dangerous Magic by Leigh Bardugo

“We were not made to please princes.”

Blood Heir by Amelie Wen Zhao

“You can achieve everything in this world, but if it’s for someone else, it’s pointless. Live for yourself.”

He Started It by Samantha Downing

“sometimes we are a family of a**holes”

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

“You are an ember in the ashes, Elias Veturius. You will spark and burn, ravage and destroy. You cannot change it. You cannot stop it.”

The Memory of Babel by Christelle Dabos

“I’ve been Berenilde’s valet, Farouk’s plaything, and prey,” she repeated to herself, while returning her lens to its frame. “An empty threat isn’t going to intimidate me.”

A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown

“Nothing good can come of a place that refuses to see the pain of the people on whose backs it was built.”

The Guest List by Lucy Foley

“When he broke up with me, he told me that he would love me forever. But that’s total crap. If you love someone, really, you don’t do anything to hurt them.”

The One by John Marrs

“If you’ve got the opportunity to love someone as much as they love you, then grab it with both hands and hold on to it for dear life.”
