The Finished Books Tag

Kristin @ Kristin Kraves Books always has fun bookish tags that I like to recreate, I seen this one pretty recently on her blog and I wanted to give it a go!

Picture1I do on Goodreads! I started my account in early 2018 and I have never looked back! I also have a reading journal at home that I like to keep a physical record of all the books that I read!

img_7245

Picture2I do record monthly reading stats and I usually post them at the end of every month on my blog. I keep track of the total number of pages read in the month and the average number of pages per day, the format of the books I read, the different genres, male vs female authors, the longest and shortest book I read in the month , my favourite book of the month and my star ratings! Here are my stats from April, March & January (somehow I skipped Feb this year)

April Statsmarch statsStats December

Picture3I do rate all of the books I read, it’s very subjective but I usually rate per my enjoyment of the book. ⭐️1 star = hated, ⭐️2 star = didn’t like, ⭐️3 star = liked, ⭐️4 star = really really liked, ⭐️5 star = absolutely LOVED!

Picture4I review most of the books that I finish but not all of them. I read quite a mix of books but the ones that I kind of prioritise to review are the more new releases and hyped books but if I have some thoughts I need to share I will definitely post it!

Picture5I have 3 bookshelves in my room that hold all of my books, both read and unread.

Picture6I will usually just mark it as ‘read’ on Goodreads, take my bookmark out and put the book back on my shelves! If I have intense feelings I will start my review straight away, but usually I like to leave it until the next couple of days before I write anything down just to let my thoughts settle.

The Currently Reading Tag

I’ve seen this tag floating around a few blogs so I thought why not give it a go!

Picture1

Only ever one, I have a hard time focusing if I’m in the middle of too many books.

Picture2

Like I said I’m never in that position so it’s all good

Picture3

Unless I misplace it when I take it out of the book I only ever use one

Picture4

Usually on my bed or on my nightstand

Picture5

Weekdays usually around 9pm – 10:30pm and on the weekends it’s usually around 1pm – 4pm

Picture6

Depends on how I’m feeling about the book. On weeknights it’s usually only around an hour or so but on the weekends it could be anywhere from an hour to 6, I have been known to finish a book in one sitting.

Picture7

Yes, I always end up damaging the dust jacket otherwise; I kind of throw my books around a lot

Picture8

Laying down, either or my side on on my back!

Picture9

No I will leave it in my room usually on my bed

Picture10

This depends as well, usually after a sitting and I put the book down I will update my Goodreads but if I forget or am too tired to I will wait and just update when I finish the book!

Jingle Bell Tag

I was in the mood for a nice Christmassy tag and when I seen this one popping up in the blogosphere I thought it was perfect! Please see the original tag HERE!

1What book do you want to see under the Christmas tree?

I would love to get a copy of The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand. I read it this month and absolutely loved it, so I would be really happy to have a copy for my own collection!

End of Year Book Tag

I’ve seen this tag floating around booktube and the blogosphere and since it’s now the start of November I figured why not give it a go!

Picture1No, every book I have started this year I have completed. I will interpret this as series I started that I need to finish and for that I am going to go with the Falling Kingdom’s Series by Morgan Rhodes. I’ve read the first 2 books and I have 4 more to go!

Picture2I do have seasonal TBR’s that are kind of like my guide for the next three months but I don’t really coordinate what I’m reading to match the weather… it’s currently Spring here in Australia and I’m planning to read a whole lot of fantasy books the last few weeks of this year, so I don’t know!

Picture3I am really excited to read Girls of Storm and Shadow by Natasha Ngan! I loved Girls of Paper and Fire when I read it back in March and I can’t wait to see where the story will go next!

43558747

Picture4The three books I really want to read before the end of 2019 is The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton, The Astonishing Colour of After by Emily XR Pan and Vengeful by V.E. Schwab.

Picture5Ever since I finished The Seven Realms Series by Cinda Williams Chima I have been eyeing off her spin off series The Shattered Realms which I believe is set in the same world but in the future! The first book in the series The Demon King was my favourite and I have a feeling the first book Flamecaster might top it!

Picture6Lately I’ve just been taking it month by month and only reading what I’m excited to read. I think because I’ve been going so well with this method I will continue on the same way in the new year!happy-reading

Pokemon Book Tag (Gotta Read Em All)

I’ve always loved Pokémon! Every time a new game comes out I have to buy it. My nephew just recently got very invested in Pokémon cards which I was low-key proud of, and I took him to watch Detective Pikachu which is now his favourite movie EVER! So when I saw this tag I knew I had to give it a go!
