It’s time for another WWW Wednesday update:

Queen of Volts by Amanda Foody

The Dead and the Dark by Courtney Gould

The Obelisk Gate by N.K. Jemisin

This month I am going to try and complete the Magical Readathon hosted by Book Roast on BookTube! There are quite a few prompts for this readathon and I am going to assign a book to each prompt however, it’s not the end of the world if I don’t manage to read them all! I am going to save the background and character prompts for a later date so for now it’s just the novice path for me in September.

O – The Novice Path Entrance: read a book with a map.
The Obelisk Gate by N.K. Jemisin

O – Ashtorn Tree: a book that keeps tempting you (or top of your TBR).
Queen of Volts by Amanda Foody

O – The Mist of Solitude: read a standalone.
A Song Below Water by Bethany C. Morrow

O – Ruin of the Skye: read a book featuring ghosts/haunted house, or other supernatural elements.
Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas

O – Obsidian Falls: read a thriller or a mystery book.
Into the Water by Paula Hawkins

O – Tower of Rumination: read a five star prediction.
Jade City by Fonda Lee

O – Orilium Academy Arc: book with a school setting.
For Your Own Good by Samantha Downing

If you are unaware what the Buzzword Readathon/Challenge is see my prior post HERE. Last month the buzzword was house/home and unfortunately I didn’t end up completing anything but I will endeavour to catch up in the coming months! However, I am excited to continue on with this challenge and complete this months buzzword which is:
This month the buzzword theme is name/title and just like last month I have a couple of options:

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is a freebie so I decided to go with a prompt from around this time last year which was opening lines. Just like last year I decided to go with the first line from 10 books on my physical TBR! These are all very high on my reading list and seeing some of these opening lines definitely makes me excited to get into a few of them!!

A Song Below Water by Bethany C. Morrow
“It feels redundant to be at the pool on a rainy Saturday, even though it’s spring, and even though it’s Portland, but maybe I’m just more of a California snob than I want to be.”

The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan
“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages comes and pass, leaving memories that become legend.”

The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow
“There’s no such thing as witches, but there used to be.”

Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare
“Lucie Herondale was ten years old when she first met the boy in the forest.”

Stormcaster by Cinda Williams Chima
“Evan of Tarvos stood at the stern rail, his eyes fixed on the ship that had been following them for the better part of a day.”

Blood and Honey by Shelby Mahurin
“Dark clouds gathered overhead.”

These Witches Don’t Burn by Isabel Sterling
“They say there’s a fine line between love and hate.”

Heart of Flames by Nicki Pau Preto
“Veronyka kicked as hard as she could at Tristan’s face.”

Queen of Volts by Amanda Foody
“It was early morning when Harvey Gabbiano dug the grave.”

Rhythm of War by Brandon Sanderson
“Of course the Parshendi wanted to play their drums.”

I did this tag last year and once again I figured it was the perfect tag to start off the new year!
Fonda Lee – There has been so much hype for Jade City and I want to see how I will feel about it!

The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones

Again classic’s honestly don’t interest me, so probably none 🤷🏾♀️
I’d like to reread Crown of Feathers before I read Heart of Flames

The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton is haunting me at this point…

A big book I would like to read is The Blinding Knife by Brent Weeks

Emily Henry – I’ve only read Beach Read so far and she has so many more books I’m interested in.

The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow

The Gentleman’s Bastard Series by Scott Lynch

The Shadow Game Series by Amanda Foody

I would like to read at least 100 books again this year!
