🔱The Heroes of Olympus Series Reread🔱

18705209._SY475_It’s time to wrap up my reread of this series!! I realised getting into The Blood of Olympus that I have actually never read it before. I just always thought I had finished the series before but this book was completely new to me. I absolutely loved the finale of this series. It wrapped up all of the various plot lines in such a satisfying way! I know that even though it was foretold that one of them was going to die I didn’t really have any doubts that they would succeed. Even though Leo’s story line was more on the open ended side it felt right for his character. The battle with the giants in Athens did feel a little rushed for me, I would of liked more of a prolonged battle since they have been building up to that moment for over 4 books now. I really enjoyed the fact that we got perspectives from Reyna and Nico in this book. Finding out about Reyna’s background and seeing her connect and open up to Nico and vice-versa was lovely to read and seeing their bond solidified at the end was gratifying. Honestly I was entertained, engaged and highly committed to these characters and this series, I don’t know if it tops the Percy Jackson series for me but I would have to say it is definitely tied as my favourite!

🔱 Heroes of Olympus Series Reread 🔱

12127810._SY475_I have just completed The House of Hades which is the fourth book in the Heroes of Olympus series! I found the stakes have just kept getting bigger as the series progresses which definitely keeps me engaged in the story line. One thing I have found throughout the course of these books is that most of the times our heroes win through some sort of convenience. I get that these are middle grade books and I shouldn’t really read too much into the story and just enjoy it but I can’t help but pick these things up along the way. Even though the main focus is pretty much on Percy and Annabeth I’m enjoying the fact that attention is still being put on the other characters and they are given more of a chance to develop as the books continue. Frank and Leo especially are both highlighted in this book and we find out a bit more about Nico and why he has pushed himself away from everyone and the two camps. I can’t remember what happens in the final book so I’m hoping he gets some form of resolution and self acceptance. These characters at times can read a little older than what they are supposed to be, but I guess given the circumstances of their lives I can understand why they would be a bit more mature! I have highly enjoyed my reread of this series so far and I am excited to pick up The Blood of Olympus to see how everything wraps up!

🔱The Heroes of Olympus Series Reread🔱

12517455I just recently finished the second book in this series The Son of Neptune and I loved it! Granted there were a few instances where things worked out a little too easily for our demi-gods but overall I was highly entertained! I think what I really loved most about this book is that Percy is back. Though I did love how the first book showcased all new characters and then incorporated the older characters I just have always loved Percy and having his voice back as one of the main POVs just felt really nostalgic. This book once again follows Rick Riordan’s tried and true formula for these books, where we establish a goal, a quest is granted and somehow they make it back in time to stop something catastrophic happening. Some of the roman aspects of the camp were a little jarring but along with Percy we are able to find out all about their way of life and how it contrasts quite starkly with Camp Half Blood. This was a really great continuation of the story line and that ending has me itching to continue on with the series ASAP!!!

Heroes of Olympus Series Reread

I have decided to continue my reread of a few of my cult favorites in 2020. I finished up Percy Jackson and the Olympian’s series a few months ago and I wanted to jump straight into the Heroes of Olympus series next! It’s been quite a few years since I read this series in full so I am very excited to get back into it and see how I feel about these books now. From what I remember I think I liked this series better than the original but I’ll reserve my judgement and comparison til the end of my reread!
