I’ve seen Book Box Au pop up on my feed for a while and finally decided to treat myself to a box so I could share my thoughts on what I received. From what I know, it’s one of the first book subscription boxes in Australia, which made me even more curious to give it a try.
The ordering process was a highlight for me – I really enjoyed filling out the questionnaire, as it felt like I was tailoring the box to my own reading tastes. When the box arrived, the packaging was absolutely beautiful, which made opening it feel even more special. Along with the book, the box included some lovely bookish goodies. My favourites were the candle, mug and bookshelf sign, which added a nice personal touch.
That said, I was a little underwhelmed with the book selection. I received The Other People by C.J. Tudor, which was published in 2020. I’ve read two of Tudor’s other books and enjoyed them, so I’m sure this one will be no different, but I was expecting something more recent so it caught me off guard.
Overall, I loved the concept and the extras, but the book choice wasn’t quite what I had hoped for.
