IMG_2114So I read Renegades back in September and ended up really loving it! Nova and Adrian are one of my favourite male and female protagonists for the year. The premise of the book is just so captivating, the way Marissa wrote it made you able to just dive head first into the world she has created. It’s very fast paced and action packed and I highly enjoyed the plot and the powers and how they differentiate between the characters. I am highly invested in this story and I am very excited to continue on with Archenemies and see where the storyline will go next!

Queen of Air and Darkness

IMG_2238I cannot believe the time has come and I know have this book in my hands!! This is absolutely my most highly anticipated book release of the year. I am having flashbacks to last year picking up Lord of Shadows and reliving all the emotions and feelings that came out of that book. I think the Dark Artifices series is fast becoming my new favourite series of Cassandra Clare. I think her writing has gotten more developed and the story of the Blackthorn family is just so compelling. Julian and Emma’s relationship and their progression over the course of the books is wonderful to read, they are definitely one of my favourite YA couples. I am picking this book up and reading it right now!

Restore Me Update

IMG_2187So I had every intention of reading Restore Me this month and completing the Shatter Me series but I honestly don’t want to anymore. There were sooo many people hyping it up and saying its one of their all time favourites and I’ve found it’s quite a staple in the YA community but its definitely not what I expected.  I was very underwhelmed by the first three books and now any excitement or need to finish has fizzled out. I have a lot more books on my TBR for the rest of the year so I will move on to those and hopefully my urge to finish Restore Me will rekindle in the new year!

Never Fade Update

I am a little under half way through Never Fade and to be quite honest I’m having a hard time staying invested in the storyline. It’s a little too slow paced for my liking … I’m nearly half way through and not a whole lot has happened. There is tons of information in regards to the Children’s League and behind the scenes but it’s a lot more political and strategic at the moment and I’m not as entertained as I thought I would be. Hopefully the second half of the book picks up the pace and becomes more lively and gripping which I’m lacking. I will continue reading as I’m still intrigued with the concept of the book and I still have high hopes for this series!

The Darkest Minds Series

IMG_2071Another super hyped series that I haven’t read yet for absolutely no reason whatsoever. These books have been out for a few years now and this year they’ve been revived again because I think a movie and another book in the series has come out. I don’t really know a lot about this series and I don’t think I’ve read any other books by Alexandra Bracken so this should be an experience. I don’t think I’ve seen or heard any bad review for this series so that sounds promising! I’m kind of just going to get into it with no preconceived notions or thoughts and see what I think when I come out on the other side!
