May Wrap Up

I’ve had a pretty good reading month! I participated in the Tome Topple readathon that went for about two weeks of the month and I did manage to finish 4 tomes during that time. One book in particular I have been meaning to read for over two years now so I was stoked I managed to get to it and LOVE it as well! Though reading these long books did kind of stall my usual pace for the month. I realise 12 books is still a massive achievement, I just feel like I didn’t read as much as I wanted to.

🔱The Heroes of Olympus Series Reread🔱

12127750._SY475_This month I completed The Mark of Athena which is the third book in the Heroes of Olympus series and I have thoughts. I loved the fact that we are going back and forth between the different point of views. I think this was the first time in all off the books that we are given chapters from Annabeth’s perspective and I really enjoyed and appreciated hearing her thoughts and fears from her. This book really explored all of the different heroes and their own self perceived inadequacies, which I think is a great subject to explore in middle grade where a lot of the targeted readers might be struggling with. In terms of the plot I think this was quite a filler book where not a lot happened but also we are given a lot of answers to questions that have surfaced throughout the series. I highly enjoyed this book and I am super excited to continue on with the series, I honestly can’t really remember a lot of the details from the last two book so it’s going to a lot of fun to read!

Heroes of Olympus Series Reread

I have decided to continue my reread of a few of my cult favorites in 2020. I finished up Percy Jackson and the Olympian’s series a few months ago and I wanted to jump straight into the Heroes of Olympus series next! It’s been quite a few years since I read this series in full so I am very excited to get back into it and see how I feel about these books now. From what I remember I think I liked this series better than the original but I’ll reserve my judgement and comparison til the end of my reread!
