The Finished Books Tag

Kristin @ Kristin Kraves Books always has fun bookish tags that I like to recreate, I seen this one pretty recently on her blog and I wanted to give it a go!

Picture1I do on Goodreads! I started my account in early 2018 and I have never looked back! I also have a reading journal at home that I like to keep a physical record of all the books that I read!

Picture2I do record monthly reading stats and I usually post them at the end of every month on my blog. I keep track of the total number of pages read in the month and the average number of pages per day, the format of the books I read, the different genres, male vs female authors, the longest and shortest book I read in the month , my favourite book of the month and my star ratings! Here are my stats from April, March & January (somehow I skipped Feb this year)

April Statsmarch statsStats December

Picture3I do rate all of the books I read, it’s very subjective but I usually rate per my enjoyment of the book. ⭐️1 star = hated, ⭐️2 star = didn’t like, ⭐️3 star = liked, ⭐️4 star = really really liked, ⭐️5 star = absolutely LOVED!

Picture4I review most of the books that I finish but not all of them. I read quite a mix of books but the ones that I kind of prioritise to review are the more new releases and hyped books but if I have some thoughts I need to share I will definitely post it!

Picture5I have 3 bookshelves in my room that hold all of my books, both read and unread.

Picture6I will usually just mark it as ‘read’ on Goodreads, take my bookmark out and put the book back on my shelves! If I have intense feelings I will start my review straight away, but usually I like to leave it until the next couple of days before I write anything down just to let my thoughts settle.

The Currently Reading Tag

I’ve seen this tag floating around a few blogs so I thought why not give it a go!

Only ever one, I have a hard time focusing if I’m in the middle of too many books.

Like I said I’m never in that position so it’s all good

Unless I misplace it when I take it out of the book I only ever use one

Usually on my bed or on my nightstand

Weekdays usually around 9pm – 10:30pm and on the weekends it’s usually around 1pm – 4pm

Depends on how I’m feeling about the book. On weeknights it’s usually only around an hour or so but on the weekends it could be anywhere from an hour to 6, I have been known to finish a book in one sitting.

Yes, I always end up damaging the dust jacket otherwise; I kind of throw my books around a lot

Laying down, either or my side on on my back!

No I will leave it in my room usually on my bed

This depends as well, usually after a sitting and I put the book down I will update my Goodreads but if I forget or am too tired to I will wait and just update when I finish the book!

Prediction Book Tag 🏷

I seen this book tag over on @ Kristin Kraves Books but the original creator is @bookprincessreviews! This tag is all about your bookish goals, plans and predictions for 2020!

All of these prompts are your predictions for your…

Picture1Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore – I want to continue on with my backlist reading momentum and finally get around to this book!

Picture2Heart of Flames by Nicki Pau Preto – I have high expectations, Crown of Feathers was a great book and I am hoping the sequel will be even better!

Picture1Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo – from what I’ve heard I think I am either going to love this book or hate it!

Picture2House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Maas – she always has a romance mixed into her fantasy book so I am hoping for a new all time fav ship!

Picture4Winterwood by Shea Ernshaw – I really enjoyed The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw and I want to see if her new book will be just as good!

Picture5Aurora Burning by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff – Aurora Rising was one of my favourite books of 2019 and I have been desperate to continue on with this series so I have no doubt I will feel the same way after completing Aurora Burning!

The Unpopular Opinions Book Tag

I seen this tag over on a Little Haze Book Blog and it seemed like a lot of fun, so I thought why not give it a go!!

Picture1The Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi

PicMonkey Collage

The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas!!

Picture3TBH the whole Tessa, Will & Jem situation didn’t really do it for me…

Picture4Definitely Contemporary, I hardly ever reach for those books!

Picture5It’s not that I didn’t like Nikolai, I just don’t think I loved him as much as everyone else seems to…

Picture6I read Save the Date by Morgan Matson and it was a little underwhelming so I haven’t had the urge to pick up any of her other books…

Picture7White, able bodies, straight protagonists… I would love to see more representation in all genre’s, especially fantasy!

Picture8I read The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers and I have not motivation to continue on with the rest of the series.

Picture9Definitely prefer the TV Show over the book when it comes to The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood!
