I just recently finished Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth the fourth book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympian’s series! I actually really enjoyed my reread of this book. The start was a little on the slower side for me and a little repetitive to be honest. It seems at the start of every Percy Jackson book so far he’s been at school a monster arrives, a short battle ensues and he runs back to Camp. Granted, its not the exact same every time but it does seem to be the standard so far in the series. I like that we see more growth in terms of Percy, Annabeth and even Clarisse’s characters. They are all getting older and emotions and feelings are being developed more and more as the series progresses! The cute little romance between Percy and Annabeth is kind of at that awkward phase where they are starting to realise their feelings for each other and they’ve started becoming a little jealous of each others friendships, Percy with Rachel and Annabeth with Luke. I thought the action and adventure was very well done and the insight into Daedalus’s history was fascinating! There was definitely twists and turns and surprises at every turn which kept me engaged and invested in the book! I think this might be one of my favourites in the series!
Happy Reading📚

I just completed the third installment in the Percy Jackson and the Olympian’s Series: The Titan’s Curse. I forgot this book existed to be perfectly honest. When I read the title I was thinking to myself which one was that? Once I read the blurb I immediately remembered the story but I completely forgot that it was apart of this series, a little bit telling perhaps… It was overall highly entertaining, but it wasn’t one of my favorites. There was just a few things that I found a little off-putting. Like the fact that Percy’s mum was just completely fine letting him make his own decisions and running off into danger while she was getting cozy with Mr Blowfis. Also the decision that Bianca made and the reasoning behind it. I get that she wanted to be someone other than Nico’s big sister but to just abandon him to people that you don’t know to run off for en eternity as a Huntress bothered me a little bit. Other than that I really enjoyed the direction the plot went with. It was fast paced, action packed and we got a lot more information about the prophecy regarding the child of the big three. I feel like this was a little bit of a filler story that added a lot of context for the books that are to come.

This month I read Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan continuing on in my reread of the entire series. I really enjoyed this book and the way that it progresses from the first. We start to see Percy really stand up and become a little more of the leader that he is meant to be. I love just picking up on subtle foreshadowing moments in these earlier books that become so integral later on in the series; the topic of fatal flaws, the search for Pan and then slowly learning more and more about the major prophecy about one of the children of the big three. And even right at the start of the book Percy getting picked on by the bullies at his school about the photo of Annabeth being his girlfriend. Seeing these little tidbits of information and knowing that they are all going to be explored more in depth in the coming books really excites me and keeps me engaged. I’ve found that the books have been a little shorter than what I remember but there is definitely a lot of action and adventure packed into them! I loved my reread and I can’t wait to continue on with The Titan’s Curse!
