Most Surprising Books of 2023

These are the 5 books that I either picked up on a whim or had heard some bad things about and I was surprised I actually ended up really liking them!

Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman

This was a random pick up and it was soo good!

The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco

Had this sitting on my shelves for years and I finally picked it up and really enjoyed it!

The Drift by C.J. Tudor

My first CJ Tudor and the complexity of the story surprised me, a great read!

Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon

I was pleasantly surprised, this wasn’t as bad as what I’ve heard!

Death by Dumpling by Vivien Chien

Wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I did!

Buzzword Reading Challenge

If you are unaware what the Buzzword Readathon/Challenge is see my prior post HERE. Last month the buzzword was a book with an ‘Flavors/Seasonings/Herbs’  in the title and I did end up reading Two Parts Sugar, One Part Murder by Valerie Burns which was a fun ride!!

For June the buzzword is a book withother‘ in the title and I actually have a book on my physical TBR that hopefully I would like to get to which is:

The Other People by C.J. Tudor
