*SEMI-SPOILERY THOUGHTS AHEAD*

I’ve been making my way slowly though and I’m about halfway into Inheritance and while I can already see some issues (pacing that drags at times and side plots that feel less important than they should) I’m still just enjoying the read. There’s something nostalgic about coming back to this world after following the series for so long and even when the writing isn’t perfect, it still pulls me in.

It has a familiar, almost comforting quality to it, even if it leans heavily on well-worn tropes and occasionally gets bogged down in detail. For me, it feels less about the polish and more about being along for the ride with these characters one last time. It might not be the most finely crafted fantasy out there, but it’s scratching that nostalgic itch and keeping me curious to see how everything finally wraps up freshly in my mind.

I am about 100 pages into Inheritance and ahhh I am loving this so much. It just gives me all the nostalgic feels that I have been looking for and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience so far rereading not just Inheritance but the whole series. We are just getting into the thick of things and everything is starting to ramp up again and I am just enjoying the ride. I want to try and pace myself and take my time reading this book so I don’t get overwhelmed about the size and I want to savor the moment for sure. I am glad I have Murtagh to pick up straight after this is done because I really feel like from what I can remember about the ending I am going to have a bit of a reading hangover that I will have to get back out of!

I’ve just finished rereading Brisingr and honestly, I’m still loving this series more with each book. The magic, the battles, the creatures, it’s all such a good time. That being said, this one really dragged in parts. There’s a fair bit of filler, especially in the middle and I forgot how much of it kind of blends together with the rest of the series.

The start was strong with Eragon and Roran getting revenge for Garrow and I loved the parts with the dwarves and elves, especially when Eragon forges his sword. I was a bit sad there wasn’t more Roran though, he’s such a solid character.

And that ending… brutal every time. It’s done so well but still hurts. I barely remember what happens in Inheritance, so I’m actually keen to jump into it next and see how it all wraps up.
