I picked up Warcross on a whim last year after I read the synopsis and thought it was interesting and I immediately loved it. Emika is one of my favourite female protagonists I’ve read this year! She was tenacious, spunky, smart and just had an attitude about her that I loved. The storyline was super interesting and I loved the gamer setting in the not too distant future. The plot was definitely engrossing, but this was one of those times where I could immediately predict how things were going to go down. Granted I wasn’t 100% accurate, especially about that ending but it was a little predictable nonetheless. I can’t wait to get stuck in to Wildcard and I am really hoping it lives up to my expectations.
Happy Reading📚

I was a bit disappointed when I finished Fire Study but I still have hope that the series will pick back up for Shadow and Night Study. There wasn’t anything inherently wrong with Fire Study I just found it a bit more difficult to get through than the other books I’ve read from the Study Series. I love the whole premise of the books and they’ve really continued to expand and grow as the series continued. I’m still invested in the narrative and the characters, I especially like the dynamics of Yelena and Valek’s relationship. So I’m hoping the pace picks back up and I get excited about the series again.
So I read
I am such a huge fan of the Stormlight Archives. I started with Words of Radiance earlier this year and I have honestly not looked back! I wasn’t the biggest fan of Edgedancer which I read a few months ago but I have a feeling that Lift is definitely going to be a stronger protagonist in this instalment. I am definitely more of a high/epic fantasy reader and this series just encompasses everything that I love about the genre. A plethora of characters that interweave throughout the plot, a magic system that is well defined and original and a world that is huge and very well developed. Brandon Sanderson is an amazing writer and I am low key sad that I won’t get another book in this series for a few years. There is still so many of his books that I haven’t read though so I will definitely be keeping myself busy in the meantime.
