I am in a very cozy reading kind of mood. This means some romance and low stakes thriller/mysteries and fantasies!

I had to take some time off from posting this month just because life lol but I have still been reading! I managed to get through 6 books that I enjoyed for the most part but no new 5 stars unfortunately. Things have definitely calmed down enough that I think I can get back to posting regularly which I very much look forward to doing! Happy reading everyone 🙂
The books I read in April were:
Ankle Snatcher by Grady Hendrix – ⭐️3/5 stars

In Bloom by Paul Tremblay –⭐️2/5 stars

Big Bad by Chandler Baker – ⭐️4/5 stars

It Waits in the Woods by Josh Malerman – ⭐️3/5 stars

The Pram by Joe Hill –⭐️2/5 stars

Best of Luck by Jason Mott – ⭐️3/5 stars

Hello friends it’s Top Ten Tuesday time once again and this week’s prompt is books with ‘blank’ word in the title. I decided to have a bit of fun and go to a random word generator and get it to choose 10 words and I will find a book I’ve read or from my TBR with that word in the title somewhere! The words I got were: ring, top, scandal, lick, reign, story, wire, learn, painter, needle

First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?

“In the middle of the ocean, there was a girl who lived upon a rock. This was not an ocean like the one you have imagined. Nor was the rock like the one you have imagined. The girl, however, might be as you imagined-assuming you imagined her as a thoughtful, soft-spoken, and overly fond of collecting cups.”

April has been a crazy month so far in terms of what’s been going on in my personal life and unfortunately this has ended up with me being in a bit of a reading slump. I’ve moved house and had to go on a couple last minute trips out of town for sorry business and it’s really been messing with my reading mojo. However, I’ve been trying to get back into the reading spirit by ducking in to any book stores I come across in my travels and this one in Kempsey NSW is one of my favourites that I wanted to share! A true hole in the wall bookstore with books seemingly bursting from the seams. I always feel better when I’m surrounded by books and I need to remind myself how much I actually love reading and the escapism it gives me from my everyday life! Do you have a favourite bookstore??
