The career I have chosen is to be a Hogwarts Professor and teach Charms, honestly because I would love to live at Hogwarts full time and I think Charms is such a fun, crucial subject in a young witch/wizards magical education! So to pass my NEWTS I need an O in Charms and E in Defense Against the Dark Arts and at least 2 A’s in secondary subjects of my choice which equals to 7 books in all that I need to complete for the NEWTS. If I have time throughout the month I am still going to try and complete as many of the other prompts that I can!

So the prompts and my TBR for the NEWTs are:

charms copyA: Read a book that has a gorgeous cover

9781101885956

E: Read a comic / manga / graphic novel (or book under 150 pages)

44774415

O: Spongify (softening charm) – read a paperback book

28503789

DADA copyA: Book that’s black under the dust jacket

E: Gilderoy’s Memory Charm – first book that I remembered just now from my TBR!

history of magic copyA: Read a Fantasy

transfiguration copyA: Read a book with LGBTQA+ Representation

August TBR

This month I have the N.E.W.T.S Magical Readathon going on, but I only need to read 7 books for the career I chose, which definitely leaves me room in the month to pick up some more books! I have been slowly dwindling through my physical TBR that I own so I’m still trying to make a dent in that, as well as my library books and I have subscribed to Kindle Unlimited and there is a plethora of options for me to read there as well!

So all the books on my TBR currently in my possession are:

What are you reading this month?

July Wrap Up

This month I was in the mood for a little steamy romance/smutty goodness, so I delved a little into that world and enjoyed what I encountered. I think because I was sick for the first few weeks of the month and I got into that weird little reading funk I didn’t want to have to focus too much on what I was reading and just picked something up that was easy and entertaining! Then in the last week of July the Reading Rush readathon was on and I managed to finish 7 books in that week. So overall July started off a little slumpy then as the month progressed I got my groove back and managed to have my best reading month so far this year… 21 books!

Goodreads Reading Goal

readingDuring the Reading Rush last week I managed to reach and surpass my Goodreads Reading Goal for 2019!!! Last year I gave myself a goal of 70 books and if I remember correctly I completed that around October and just finished shy of 100 books by the end of 2018 with 99 books read. So I decided for 2019 to have a goal of 100 books because I got so close last year and because I don’t think I have ever read 100 books before in a year. To have completed and surpassed that goal by late July is amazing! I am super proud of myself and I’ve just been having a really great reading year so far and I look forward to continuing on the next 5 months and seeing how many I manage to get through by the new year!

Happy Reading📚
