Ember in the Ashes Series Reread

I’ve been going through and doing rereads of a few series that I haven’t picked up in years and since I just wrapped up The Heroes of Olympus series last month I thought I had better pick something to start next. The final book in this series is going to be released in a few months so I decided to do a reread of the Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir! Its been about 2 years since A Reaper at the Gates was released so I am struggling to remember the finer details of the plot and I wanted to go into the last book freshly reminded of everything!

Goodreads Reading Goal

alcemist1Super excited to announce as of yesterday I completed my 2020 Goodreads Reading Goal of 100 books!!! I had the same goal last year and I believe I completed it around late July so I’m running a little behind but I am still super stoked I was able to complete it. It honestly doesn’t feel like I’ve read 100 books this year but due to the current situation in the world I’ve definitely had a lot more time to stay home and read! Last year I ended up completing 172 books so it will be interesting to see what I will end up with at the end of 2020. Hopefully everyone is able to complete their Reading Goals for the year and if you don’t I still hope you read some great books!! 😊

🔱The Heroes of Olympus Series Reread🔱

18705209._SY475_It’s time to wrap up my reread of this series!! I realised getting into The Blood of Olympus that I have actually never read it before. I just always thought I had finished the series before but this book was completely new to me. I absolutely loved the finale of this series. It wrapped up all of the various plot lines in such a satisfying way! I know that even though it was foretold that one of them was going to die I didn’t really have any doubts that they would succeed. Even though Leo’s story line was more on the open ended side it felt right for his character. The battle with the giants in Athens did feel a little rushed for me, I would of liked more of a prolonged battle since they have been building up to that moment for over 4 books now. I really enjoyed the fact that we got perspectives from Reyna and Nico in this book. Finding out about Reyna’s background and seeing her connect and open up to Nico and vice-versa was lovely to read and seeing their bond solidified at the end was gratifying. Honestly I was entertained, engaged and highly committed to these characters and this series, I don’t know if it tops the Percy Jackson series for me but I would have to say it is definitely tied as my favourite!

Library Haul/Update

I’ve definitely still been perusing my local library over the last month since I’ve updated. Unfortunately I haven’t really been keeping up with actually reading all of the books before my loan term is over.. I am really going to try and get stuck into them after this week. My reading is a little preoccupied at the moment with the Reading Rush I am currently participating in, but I still want to try and prioritise a couple of these books before the end of the month, wish me luck!happy-reading

📚 Library Haul 📚

It’s been a while since I’ve done an update on what I’ve borrowed from the library so I figure today was the day! My local library only just reopened a couple of weeks ago after being closed for 2 months due to covid, so I went straight in and borrowed some fresh books to read! I’m trying to catch up and get into some of the cult favourite fantasy books that have been out and beloved for ages now and my library actually holds a lot of these books which works out perfectly for me!
