Books I’d want with me while stranded on a desert island

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is books I’d want with me while stranded on a desert island. If I were in this situation I think I would want  fun, trashy, fantastical reads that I could dive into and forget about my current situation and be happy to reread multiple times until I am rescued. So I’m leaning more towards series that I love that have expansive worlds and characters that I never get tired of.

The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas

Book of the Ancestors Series by Mark Lawrence

Books I read in One Sitting

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is books I read in one sitting. Since I’m a pretty quick reader its quite easy for me to finish a book in one sitting, especially if its under 300 pages, so for today these were the first 10 books that came to mind when I went back through my recent reads.

When the Tiger Came Down the Mountain by Nghi Vo

Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager

Watch Over Me by Nina LaCour

The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller

Take a Hint Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

Winterwood by Shea Ernshaw

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

A Winter’s Promise by Christelle Dabos

I Believe in a Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo

5 Books I Want to Read Update

Back in January I posted about 5  books I really wanted to read in 2021 and now that we are halfway through the year I thought I would post an update! At this stage I’ve only read 1 out of 5 of the books so I really have to get cracking if I want to complete them all.

The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin

This was a wonderful introduction to this trilogy and I can see now why so many people love this book. The writing was descriptive and the world building was immaculate. All of the characters were distinctive and diverse and the way the storylines merged was masterful. I am kicking myself for putting off reading this book for so long and I am happy to have finally completed it. I have a feeling I am going to be continuing on very soon!

My Rating:  ⭐️4/5 stars

The other four books I still need to read are:

Quarterly Reading Recommendation

I can’t believe it’s already been another three months since my last recommendation post! This is going to be my second instalment for 2021 and this month I only picked 5 books to list since I didn’t read as much during those three months and these were the only books I wanted to recommend. If you want to check out my first quarterly reading recommendations click HERE!

My recommendations for April – May – June are:

House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland

The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones

Shadowcaster by Cinda Williams Chima

Truthwitch by Susan Dennard

The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson
