End of Year Book Tag

I’ve seen this tag floating around booktube and the blogosphere and since it’s now the start of November I figured why not give it a go!

Picture1No, every book I have started this year I have completed. I will interpret this as series I started that I need to finish and for that I am going to go with the Falling Kingdom’s Series by Morgan Rhodes. I’ve read the first 2 books and I have 4 more to go!

Picture2I do have seasonal TBR’s that are kind of like my guide for the next three months but I don’t really coordinate what I’m reading to match the weather… it’s currently Spring here in Australia and I’m planning to read a whole lot of fantasy books the last few weeks of this year, so I don’t know!

Picture3I am really excited to read Girls of Storm and Shadow by Natasha Ngan! I loved Girls of Paper and Fire when I read it back in March and I can’t wait to see where the story will go next!

Picture4The three books I really want to read before the end of 2019 is The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton, The Astonishing Colour of After by Emily XR Pan and Vengeful by V.E. Schwab.

Picture5Ever since I finished The Seven Realms Series by Cinda Williams Chima I have been eyeing off her spin off series The Shattered Realms which I believe is set in the same world but in the future! The first book in the series The Demon King was my favourite and I have a feeling the first book Flamecaster might top it!

Picture6Lately I’ve just been taking it month by month and only reading what I’m excited to read. I think because I’ve been going so well with this method I will continue on the same way in the new year!happy-reading

The Readers Problems Book Tag 🏷

I’ve seen this tag going around the blogosphere and I definitely had to give it a try! I couldn’t find the original post but I seen it first at Let’s Get Galactic!

Picture1My first thought was to pick a book out of a TBR jar!

Picture3I would say 9 times out of 10 I am committed but I am really not gelling with the book I have no qualms with putting it down!

Picture4Well last year I actually got to 99 books and it was the last day of the year and I really struggled with just speeding through a book and not enjoying it or leaving it at 99 which killed me. I didn’t end up reading the book and I just told myself to cut me some slack, 99 books is still an amazing number and I’ll try again next year. I am actually well over 100 books for 2019 so I am very happy with my progress!

Picture5This has happened so many times to me now! At first it’s a struggle to see them all mismatched on my shelves, so I either just deal with it or try and wait for like the paperback set to come out and replace them. Depends on how much I love the series.

Picture6I’m not shy about voicing my opinions if I am in a minority in terms of loving a book or not. There are usually one or two people that I come across either online or IRL that share my feelings and we can discuss together.

Picture7I usually close the book for a few seconds and take a few deep breaths.

Picture8No, I will either read my review and that will spur my memories or I will just read a summary online.

Picture9I honestly don’t mind if someone borrows my books as long as the return it when I ask and in the same condition. They get one chance, if they misplace or damage then I let them know they can’t borrow anything else, sorry!

Picture10I would maybe try a different format of book, like I might try an e-book or an audio book, if this still doesn’t work then I usually take a full week or two of not even thinking about or touching any books, giving myself a time out in order to refresh.

Picture11Only the ones I am absolutely DYING to read, otherwise I like to check my local library or try and wait until I see some reviews to know whether or not it’s worth it!

Picture12If I am super excited about them I like to get stuck straight in, but if the book is just super hyped then it’s just all about what I feel like at the time. Could be a week or two, could be a couple of months.

⚡️Harry Potter Book Tag⚡️

I’ve seen this tag on a few blogs now and I thought it was very fitting for this month since I’m currently in the middle of the NEWTs Magical Readathon! Since the books came out I have been an avid Harry Potter fan and when I saw this tag I knew I had to give it a go! There are definitely spoilers if you are one of the few who haven’t read this series, I would suggest not reading on!

Favourite Book

My favourite Harry Potter book is definitely The Deathly Hallows. Just having the whole story coming together and weaving into the amazing finale that shook me to the core when I first read it has really made this book cemented as my favourite in my heart!

Favourite Movie

Definitely Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone!  It was whimsical and magical and everything that I wanted, the series just went downhill from there for me.

Least favourite book

Would have to be Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix… Just the way that Dumbledore treated Harry and how angsty he was and Dolores bringing down the joy and wonder of Hogwarts and how everything inevitably ended up with Sirius, just dampened me feelings on this one!

Part of the books/movies that made you cry

The death of Dumbledore! When I first read this scene in The Half Blood Prince I had to put the book down for a good few weeks just to process what happened.

Favourite character

I honestly don’t have one in particular; I would say the trio of Harry, Ron and Hermione are definitely my favourites!

What would your Patronus be?

My first thought was a fox

If you could have the Resurrection Stone, the Invisibility Cloak, or the Elder Wand, which one would you choose?

Definitely the invisibility cloak … I would put that to good use!

What house would you be in?

I initially thought I would be a Ravenclaw or Slytherin but I was sorted into Gryffindor!

If you could meet any member of the cast, who would it be?

Rupert Grint or Tom Felton!!

If you were on the Quidditch team, what position would you play?

A chaser or a seeker!

Were you happy with the ending?

I thought it was honestly perfect, beyond my expectations!

How much does Harry Potter mean to you?

This was the series that propelled me into reading! It just has so much nostalgia attached to it and I will forever love this series and continue to reread it over and over again!
