This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is the last 10 books I abandoned. As somewhat of a completionist I have a tough time DNFing a book or not completing a series when I am already a few books in. I would just kind of prefer to force myself to finish off the book/series and then put them back on my shelves and never think about them again. However, there are two instances where I have started a series and have no intention of every finishing them which I thought I would share with you today!
The Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi – I read the original trilogy a couple of years ago now and I liked the first book and gradually my attention span and interest just dwindled as I continued through the series. This was around the time that Restore Me was first released and before I had even read any of the series I bought a brand new hardback copy because I was sooo sure I was going to love this series as much as everyone else, alas it is sitting on my shelves unread and I have no interest in continuing on!
Lorien Legacies series by Pittacus Lore – I started this series right around the time the movie was first released which was nearly ten years ago now and I think at the time only 2-3 of the books had been published. Over the next couple of years I did end up picking up each of the books as they were released but eventually my interest and my reading preferences changed and I gave up on ever completing this series!

Yep, I’m definitely with you on the Shatter Me Series. I started reading the first book but it was already so not my jam but since I don’t DNF I basically just skimmed through the whole book and read a summary on one of those recap sites to find out spoilers of what happens in the rest of the series because yeah nah, ain’t nobody got time for that 🤣 It’s such a popular series though!

After the original trilogy I don’t understand why more books kept coming out … I wasn’t that invested in the story or the characters to continue! 😊

I’m a bit of a completionist too! I tend not to want to start series unless I’m pretty sure I’ll love them because I hate leaving things unfinished.

I’d considered reading the Shatter Me series when it first came out simply because of how popular it was at the time, but I still haven’t read it now. I’ve seen a lot of people be disappointed by the later books in the series so I’m not going to ever get to it.
